“Devil-May-Care” was created in the end of August 1999 by Elf (Ilya – EX-Gothic Sky - Vocals & keyboards) and Scum (Pavel – guitars). This very year Diesel (Mikhail – bass) joined them. The group was finally formed in autumn 2000 with coming of Spawn (Stas – EX-Erich Zaan) and Helen (Elena – vocals). The drums were computer – programmed.
The group had its debut in Michurinsk at “Metalfest-2001” festival. Virtually at the same period, in July 2001 at “Scum Records” and “S&I” studios active records of the first album “AWE” began. “AWE” was finished in March 2002.
In November 2002 “Devil-May-Care” took part in “Tambovski Volk” festival. In January 2003 the set of the group changed. Scum (Pavel – guitars) was exchanged by Witch Grinder (Àlexandr EX – Astral Gates - guitars).
The style of “AWE” is characterized by “Devil-May-Care” musicians as melodic Black-metal. The music is a mixture of classics, Celtic folk melodies and traditions of European gothic.
In December 2003 “AWE” was released on CD by Russian underground label “Stygian Crypt productions”.
Nowadays the group works on the second album. New music is expected to be more dynamic and harsh (Black-Art), but, at the same time, melody, which is characteristic of “Devil-May-Care” compositions, will delight the admirers of their creativity.
